NC office-bearers’ meeting postponed over KC’s demise

KATHMANDU: An officer-bearers’ meeting of the main opposition Nepali Congress scheduled for Tuesdya has been postponed.

The meeing has been postponed due to the demise of NC lawmaker and Central Working Committee member Sher Bahadur KC, said Krishna Prasad Paudel, the chief secretary at the NC central office.

NC closes its central office for a day and lowers its flag half-mast for three days when its CWC member passes away as the existing provision.

The NC officer-bearers’ meeting which began yesterday was also taking place today to discuss the various agends including the upcoming general convention of the party.

With the postponement of the meeting, a Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting of the party  called for November 6 on the preparation of the 14th general convention of the party is also likely to be hit.

NC has scheduled its general convention for February 19-22, 2021.
