KATHMANDU: Amid escalating dispute between the two chairman of the ruling Nepali Communist Party (NCP), preparations have been intensified to reshuffle the cabinet in the Karnali Province.
Chief Minister of Karnali Province Mahendra Bahadur Shahi is set to reshuffle his cabinet today.
Sources said that Chief Minister Shahi is set to remove ministers close to Prime Minister KP Oli and induct new faces who are close to NCP Senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal.
According to the source, Shahi is preparing to oust Social Development Minister Dal Rawal and Minister of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment Nanda Singh Buda.
“Chief Minister Shahi is likely to induct Chandra Bahadur Shahi, Karbir Shahi and Ama Bahadur Thapa into the cabinet,” the source said.
Likewise, the Physical Infrastructure Development Ministry is also without a minister.
It should be noted that a no-confidence motion filed against Chief Minister Shahi was unsuccessful.
The decision to this effect has been made after an understanding between Chief Minister Shahi and leaders close to senior leader Nepal in the Karnali province after the leaders who are close to PM Oli registered a no-confidence motion against Shahi from the parliamentary party leader’s position.
