NC President Deuba not to attend

KATHMANDU: The Communist Party of China (CPC) is organizing a virtual interaction program with the top leaders of all political parties in Nepal.

A team led by CPC’s International Department Head Song Thao will interact with Chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Foreign Department Chief Madhav Kumar Nepal, and representatives of Nepali Congress (NC), Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP), and other parties at 1 pm on Tuesday.

NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba will not be attending the interaction.

NC Joint General Secretary and former Foreign Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat will be representing the party.

Likewise, CPN ML General Secretary CP Mainali and President of the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party Narayan Man Bijukchhe will be attending the interaction.

This is the first time that the CPC is holding simultaneous discussions with representatives of all political parties.

According to the source, the Chinese side will discuss the issue of the ‘Trans-Himalayan Multidimensional Connectivity Network’ and seek commitment from Nepal’s political parties.

Earlier in June, CPC had held a virtual conference with NCP leaders.
