KATHMANDU: The Tatopani dry port, which has been closed since last July, has resumed operations from Sunday.
Umesh Kumar Dhakal, Chief District Officer of Sindhupalchowk informed that Chinese goods entered Nepal through Tatopani after 80 days.
He said that the containers have arrived at the Nepali customs after being exempted from the Chinese customs. “From Monday, the Nepali customs will also pass the customs,” he said.
Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi tweeted on Sunday evening that she was happy that the Tatopani dry port came into operation. She said that the dry port has come into operation with the joint efforts of Nepal and China.
Ambassador Yanqi also said that the Rasuwa checkpoint, which is currently closed, will be reopened soon.
