Himalaya Samvad on tech and green issues on Friday

KATHMANDU: Observer Research Foundation (ORF) is set to organize the Himalaya Samvad, a broad-based dialogue between the Himalayan neighbors India, Nepal and Bhutan, on Friday.

The virtual dialogue will catalyze areas of interest. It will include themes for mutual collaboration such as using technology not just to connect the Himalayan nations but to enhance business networks and cultural ties with the region, as well as work.

The panel discussions will focus on two themes:

Digital Himalayas: Technology, its applications, especially as perceived by the young demography of these countries, and sharing technology know-how and creating digital business networks.

Green Himalayas: Working together towards a green economy, including green investments; green cities; tackling climate issues, disaster mitigation and resilience.

Amun Thapa, Cigay Dorji, Kanchan Gupta, Sangeet Jain, Sixit Bhatta, Sonam Palden will be involved in panel discussion on Digital Himalayas that will start at 11 am IST, the organizer said.

Likewise, Aparna Roy, Chhimi Dorji, Pasang Dolma Sherpa, Santosh Nepal, Tashi Dorji and Vikrom Mathur are panellists for Green Himalayas at 5 pm IST.
