Paragliding to resume from Oct 1

KATHMANDU: The adventure sports event paragliding that had been halted for more than seven months is coming into operation from October 1.

With the operation of domestic flights, the paragliding is also scheduled to start from October 1.

According to paragliding entrepreneurs, the paragliding the service is resumed only in experimentation phase till date and it will come into operation from the new month.

The paragliding entrepreneurs association has directed the paragliding companies that had gone to closure due to the lockdown and prohibitory orders issued to curb coronavirus pandemic to reopen the booking for paragliding services.

According to Bala Ram Acharya, the General Secretary of paragliding entrepreneur’s umbrella organization, the paragliding companies of Pokhara had to face the loss worth 500 million rupees during the lockdown.

According to the Federation of Aeronautic International (FAI), Pokhara is one of the best paragliding destinations of the world.

However, there are many challenges to promote this place as the best paragliding destinations.
