Journalist Pushkar Lal Shrestha passes away



KATHMANDU: Senior journalist and Editor-in-Chief of Kamana Publication, Pushkar Lal Shrestha, passed away at a private hospital here Wednesday, hospital sources said. He was 60.

He was admitted to Norvic Hospital at Thapathali, Kathmandu where he passed away this afternoon. Shrestha was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome some five months back. Late Shrestha flew to India’s Medanta Ortho and Neuro Care Centre for further treatment, and came back after signs of improvement in his health.

Then after, he was admitted to the Norvic and given physiotherapy services.

Late Shrestha was the founder chair of Kamana Publications and Nepal Media Society. He also served as an Executive Member of the Minimum Wage Determination Committee, Nepal Press Institute, Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) board of directors, Editors Society Nepal, Nepal Press Club and Press Council Nepal. Shrestha is survived by his spouse and three sons.

According to his family sources, his funeral rites will be performed at Pashupati Aryaghat today itself.
