KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) has directed the government to present the original copy of the decision on land fragmentation. The order was made in response to a writ petition filed by legal practitioner Santosh Bhandari demanding a halt on the government decision on allowing for the land plotting.

A division bench of Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JBR and Justice Anil Kumar Sinha issued such directive on Thursday seeking to submit the original copy of the decision made by the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation.

Earlier on September 14, the SC had issued an interlocutory order not to implement the government decision to let the plotting of arable land.

Likewise, the SC has asked both sides to appear before the court on October 6 for discussions on whether to implement the government decision on allowing plotting of land.

Similarly, the SC has given a directive to submit two other decisions and an order in relation to land administration taken on different dates.
