Nepal, Israel to sign labor pact on Sept 30

KATHMANDU: Nepal and Israel are scheduled to sign a labor agreement on September 30 at the Israeli Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem.

An agreement is about to be reached regarding employing Nepali caregivers to the nursing area—hospitals, nursing homes and daycare centers of Israel.

The agreement will be signed by Nepal’s Ambassador to Israel Dr. Anjan Shakya and Israeli Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi, said Arjun Ghimire, said Second Secretary at the Nepali Embassy in Tel Aviv.

A cabinet meeting on Tuesday had decided to sign a labor agreement with Israel and had authorized Nepali Ambassador to Israel Shakya to sign the labor pact.

After the labor agreement between the two countries, Nepali workers will be able to go to Israel for work officially and will get the same services and protection as Israeli citizens.
