Landslide at Sahasradhara obstructs mid-hill highway

BAGLUNG: The landslide triggered by incessant rain since Tuesday has obstructed the Parbat-Baglung road section along the mid hill highway.

Traffic along the road section has been disrupted since last night following landslides in Kusma municipality-1, Sahasradhara of Parbat.

As landslides are continually taking place for over two weeks, the road traffic has come to disruption in a frequent manner.

Due to torrential rain in the area, it has been a trouble to remove the debris and resume traffic operation on the road, said District Traffic Police Office Krishna Khadka.

Excavators have been arranged to clear the road.

Traffic would come to normalcy by Wednesday afternoon if the rain ceased to take place, he said.

With the road traffic thrown out of gear, vehicles bound to Baglung, Myagdi and Mustang districts have been stranded at Nayapul and those en route to Pokhara and Kathmandu from the districts have been also parked along the road at Maldhunga since last night.
