NC General Secretary Shashank Koirala hospitalized



KATHMANDU:  General Secretary of main opposition Nepali Congress Shashanka Koirala has been admitted to hospital.

A few days ago, after being infected with COVID-19, Koirala had been in home isolation. Koirala was admitted to Om Hospital in Chabahil after his condition deteriorated on Tuesday evening.

A team led by Senior Consultant Physician Dr Viswanath Koirala has been deployed for his treatment.

The team includes senior consultant pulmonologist Dr. Subodh Sagar Dhakal, Consultant Intensivist Pramesh Sundar Shrestha among others.

Dr. Shashank’s condition is stable and improving, said Babukaji Karki, managing director of the hospital.

Five years ago, when he suddenly fainted due to pneumonia, Dr. Koirala was treated in the intensive care unit at the hospital.
