Govt issues new guidelines for alternate learning facilitation

KATHMANDU: The government has issued ‘Student Learning Facilitation Guidelines 2077’ to ensure learning through alternate system in the academic session.

Authorities said such guidelines have been issued to give a nod to alternate learning in the context of coronavirus pandemic as the schools are yet to open.

This system will also be considered even in the time of other pandemic.

With the implementation of the guideline, schools will have easy access to keep the record of the admitted students, collect fees as allowed by the local level and implement the evaluation methods by downsizing the credit hours of the class.

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology released the guidelines, which was approved by Minister for Education, Science and Technology Girirajmani Pokhrel on September 4.

The guidelines emphasize coordination between the local administration and local government for active interaction between teachers and students with health protocols even in the areas with low risk of coronavirus infection.

In order to implement the new guidelines, the Curriculum Development Centre will make adjustments in the curriculum while the school management committee, teachers, parents and the media shall play their respective part.
