KATHMANDU: The government today decided to extend the ongoing prohibitory order in Kathmandu Valley until September 9.
A meeting of the Chief District Officers of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur held today decided to extend the prohibitory order until September 9.
It may be noted that the CDOs of the three districts — Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur — had on Tuesday recommended to the Ministry of Home Affairs to extend the prohibitory order by a week.
The Kathmandu Valley has reported as many as 388 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
According to Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population, 350 persons in Kathmandu, 29 in Lalitpur and 9 in Bhaktapur have tested positive for the pandemic virus.
With the extension of the prohibitory order, services and businesses other than essential ones will not be allowed to operate in the Kathmandu Valley until September 9.
Likewise, the authorities have decided to allow transportation of construction materials and take-away of food from hotels and restaurants.
