Now, PCR test for COVID-19 at Rs 4,000



KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population has stated that the PCR test of COVID-19 can be now done at as low as Rs 4,000. Earlier, the ministry had fixed the fee for PCR test at Rs 5,500.

Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population said that laboratories could charge Rs 4,000 for the tests.

Hospitals with their labs and other laboratories should conduct the test at the mentioned rate, the ministry said.

According to Spokesperson Gautam, the maximum fee for coronavirus test has been fixed at Rs 4,400.
