Nepal’s coronavirus death toll climbs to 228 with seven more fatalities



KATHMANDU: Nepal recorded seven new coronavirus-related deaths in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 228, the Ministry of Health and Population stated.

In a regular press briefing on Monday afternoon, Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said that four males and three females have died of the pandemic.

A 4-year-old girl from Mahottari, a 65-year-old woman from Gorkha and a 68-year-old woman from Rupandehi died in the last 24 hours.

Likewise, an 86-year-old man from Jhapa, a 40-year-old man from Rautahat, a 78-year-old man from Chitwan and a 77-year-old man from Bhaktapur have succumbed to the pandemic, Spokesperson Dr. Gautam said.

Fourteen more people including four women had lost their lives from the coronavirus infection on Sunday.

Nepal recorded 899 coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. Of the new cases, 303 are women and 596 men. With the new cases, Nepal’s caseload has reached 39,460.

Similarly, coronavirus has been confirmed on 298 people in Kathmandu valley in the last 24 hour.
