Foreigners who can come to Nepal on regular flights



KATHMANDU: The government has prepared a schedule of regular flights with effect from September 1.

According to the scheduled, there will be two regular flights from different countries without increasing the number of passengers to 500 each day.

On this regular flights, Nepali citizens will be able to come to Nepal after completing the prescribed process.

However, foreign tourists will still not be allowed to fly. The government will allow employees and officials of diplomatic missions and development partners to come to Nepal.

The government will allow the employees, representatives and their family members of 33 bodies and organizations to come to Nepal.

According to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, staffers and officials of one and a half dozen UN agencies and their family members will be allowed to come to Nepal.

The Ministry said staff members of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) can come to the country.

Staff and representatives from the International Labor Organization (ILO), the United Nations Children’s Fund, the United Nations Information Center (UNIC), UN Women, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) under the World Bank, and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) can also come to Nepal.

Likewise, employees of the International Development Agency (IDA), International Development Agency (DFID), International Agricultural Development Fund, Germany, Japan, Korea, the USA, Switzerland, the Netherlands and their families will also be allowed to visit Nepal.

Visas will be provided to the staff and representatives of these bodies by the Nepali Mission in the respective countries.

However, PCR reports have been made mandatory for people coming to Nepal. After arriving in Nepal, foreigners will have to stay in hotel quarantine for 7 days.
