Prohibitory orders in 49 districts to curb COVID-19

KATHMANDU: Prohibitory orders have been clamped in 49 districts to control the spread of the coronavirus as Nepal struggles to stem the pandemic.

A complete ban has been imposed in 39 districts and a partial ban in 10 districts after the coronavirus cases reported at the community level, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

According to Home Ministry Information Officer Premlal Lamichhane, local-level officials have issued lockdown and other orders district-wise or partially after assessing the coronavirus risk.

According to the ministry, a complete prohibitory order has been clamped in three districts of the Kathmandu Valley—Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur— and in 39 districts of the Terai including Saptari, Dhanusha, Parsa, Mahottari, Bara, Sunsari, Sarlahi, Siraha and Rautahat.

Similarly, Sankhuwasabha, Rupandehi, Chitwan, Dhankuta, Palpa, Ramechhap, Dolakha, Nawalparasi East, Sindhupalchowk, Gorkha, Arghakhanchi, Kaski, Kailali, Pyuthan, Dailekh, Kanchanpur, Dadeldhura, Tehrathum, Baitadi, Kapilvastu, Nawalparasi West, Dolpa, Morang, Doti and Dang have imposed a complete lockdown.

Partial bans have been imposed in Nuwakot, Jumla, Darchula, Jhapa, Makwanpur, Dhading, Tanahun, Baglung, Rukum West and Jajarkot.

Prohibitory order imposed in Gulmi, Lamjung, Udayapur, Kalikot and Panchthar has been lifted, said Lamichhane.
