22 police personnel including DSP in Maharajgunj Circle test positive for COVID-19



KATHMANDU: As many as 22 policemen including Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) working at the Metropolitan Police Circle, Maharajgunj have tested positive for COVID-19.

According to a report received on Wednesday, 22 people, including a DSP of Maharajgunj, have contracted coronavirus, said SP Somendra Singh Rathore of Kathmandu Metropolitan Police.

He said that the infected police personnel are now kept in isolation.

Among them, only symptomatic cases are taken to the hospital, while others are in home isolation, he said.

The infection was spread in Maharajgunj Circle by a person arrested on the charge of murder in Manmaiju.

Police had arrested four people involved in the murder on July 16.
