NMA urges general public to cooperate with health workers

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Medical Association (NMA) has urged one and all to cooperate with the medical persons who are working untiringly in the forefront in this global crisis of coronavirus.

At a press meet organized at Ministry of Health and Population on Tuesday, NMA Chairman Dr Lochan Karki expressed worry over the misbehavior meted out to the health workers in various parts of the country at a time when the COVID-19 infection and subsequent death are on the rise.

The misbehaviour meted out by the landlords and neighbours to the health workers have disheartened them, he said, appealing to all people to extend support to the health workers at this critical time.

“I expect people’s decent behavior and proper cooperation to the heath workers,” he hoped. According to him, maintaining proper safety measure would help one stay away from the spread of COVID-19. He further argued that it would be difficult to control virus by hiding the identity of the infected persons.

The NMA Chair also sought all sides’ unity to fight against the coronavirus.
