239 active cases in Chitwan, 18 receiving treatment in ICU

CHITWAN: Chitwan district has got 239 active cases of coronavirus including those in different hospitals and home isolation in the district.

According to the District Public Health Office sources, among the active cases in the districts 63 show coronavirus symptoms whereas 176 are sans pandemic symptoms. There are 18 people receiving treatment in ICU.

“There are 6 in Bharatpur Hospital, 10 in Chitwan Medical College and 1 each in Puspanjali Hospital and Old Medical College,” the source informed.

Similarly, there are 115 including 49 APF members in home isolation and the rest are in various hospitals.

Among the COVID-19 positive cases in the hospitals, there are 68 in Bharatpur Hospital, 21 in Cancer Hospital, 17 in Chitwan Medical College, 6 in Old Medical College, 5 each in Narayani Community Hospital and Central Hospital, and 1 each in Puspanjali Hospital and Maulakalika Hospital.

Chiwan district has witnessed 3 coronavirus deaths: 1 each in Ratna Nagar, Khairahani Municipality and Bharatpur Metropolitan City.

The district has been witnessing 25 coronavirus cases per day on average.

Citing the widespread of the pandemic, District Administration Office Chitwan has issued one-week-long prohibitory order throughout the district effective from August 21.

Earlier, six out of seven local levels of Chitwan had enforced 1 week-long prohibitory order from August 16. Madi Municipality joined the group from August 21. Now, there is a prohibitory order throughout the district.
