APF Headquarters urges personnel to adopt precautions as COVID-19 cases surge



KATHMANDU: The Armed Police Force (APF) Headquarters, Halchowk, has issued a circular for its personnel to take a special precaution in the areas with high coronavirus cases.

APF personnel in ten districts, including three in the Valley, have been asked to adopt safety measures considering the high risk of contracting the coronavirus.

AFP personnel in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Ilam, Mahottari, Dhanusha, Chitwan, Banke, Parsa and Bara have been most affected by the pandemic.

AFP Spokesperson DIG Raju Aryal said that the use of public transport has been banned to reduce the rate of infection, adding that headquarters has been deploying the least number of manpower and sending vehicles to pick employees from their homes.

A total of 36 personnel who had recently returned from Province had tested coronavirus positive in Kathmandu and Bhaktapur.

Of the 412 APF personnel across the country who had tested positive for the coronavirus, 165 have recovered so far and 247 are undergoing treatment.
