Manang reports two more coronavirus cases



CHAME: Manang, a district which lies beyond the Himalayas of Nepal, has seen two more coronavirus cases  after a long interval.

According to Badri Raj Acharya, the Acting Chief of District Public Health Office, Manag, two teachers who had returned to Manang from terai to resume classes in schools in the district have tested positive for coronavirus.

Acharya informed that the teachers had returned to Manang from terai two weeks ago.

The teachers who tested coronavirus positive for COVID-19 include a 51-year-old male from Biratnagar-11, Morang working at Ngwal Basic School and a 57 year old male from Bharatpur-11, Chitwan working in a school in Manang’s Ngisyang Rural Municipality.

No locals have tested positive for coronavirus in the district.

According to Acharya, the infected teachers are in normal health and are brought to Chame based isolation center.

Out of 18 samples collected on August 18, two persons were diagnosed with coronavirus in the district.

The district has got 81 swabs tested till date out of which three came out with coronavirus positive results.

According to Puspa Raj Sharma, the Chief District Officer of Manang, no locals of Manang have tested positive for coronavirus till date.
