India reports over 68,000 COVID-19 infections today



NEW DELHI: India reported a spike of 68,898 coronavirus infections on Friday, according to the data from the Health Ministry.

Deaths in India rose by 983 to a total of 54,849.

The total coronavirus case tally in the country now stands at 29,05,823.

Almost 30% of New Delhi’s population has been infected by the coronavirus, according to a serological survey of 15,000 people conducted by the local government.

The figure, reports suggest, indicates infection numbers are much higher than those recorded.

Meanwhile, the global coronavirus cases stand at 22,256,220, including 782,456 deaths, reported to WHO.
