Another employee at SC diagnosed COVID-19 positive

KATHMANDU: Another employee of the Supreme Court (SC) has been diagnosed coronavirus positive on Tuesday.

According to Devendra Dhakal, Joint Spokesperson of the Supreme Court, the swab samples of 180 people who had to work in contact with the service recipients were collected Saturday. The infection has been confirmed in one of the employees.

Earlier, a driver and a Justice’s bodyguard were found coronavirus positive while 182 swab samples were tested.

The apex court has already curtailed its services following an increase in coronavirus cases within Kathmandu Valley.

The Supreme Court on Friday had issued a notice stating that the registration and hearing of the habeas corpus application, hearing of the writ petition of urgent nature, withdrawal of the case and conciliation will be the only issues to be dealt with until August 31.

The apex court had stated that the service flow has to be curtailed saying that the infection is increasing in the Kathmandu Valley, court employees, security personnel of the judges are infected and even the judges are staying in home quarantine.
