Swab collection activities stalled



BIRATNAGAR: Swab collection in Biratnagar has been postponed after medics involved in swab collection coronavirus tested positive for coronavirus.

According to  Ramesh Karki, the Chief of Metropolitan’s Public Health Divison, the swab collection has been stalled after finding the medics involved in swab collection coronavirus positive.

Fearing over the spread of COVID-19 in the community level in Biratnagar, the Metropolitan City has decided to intensify swab collection from the community which got stalled once again after finding one of the medics coronavirus positive on Sunday.

“After finding the coronavirus like symptoms in the medics, their swabs were collected and sent for test,” Karki said, adding, “One of the medics involved in swab collection tested positive, hence, we have suspended swab collection activities for the time being.”

Biratnagar has seen 523 coronavirus cases till date.

Seven persons have lost their lives due to coronavirus pandemic in Biratnagar.
