Prohibitory order imposed in Surkhet for five days



SURKHET: A prohibitory order has been imposed in Birendranagar, the district headquarters of Surkhet for five days starting today.

A meeting of the District Security Committee held on last Thursday decided to impose the prohibitory order at the recommendation of the District Covid-19 Crisis Management Center after the number of coronavirus cases increased of late.

The prohibitory order will be limited to the district headquarters only.

All the services except medical shops, water supply office, garbage management, cooking gas, dairy, vegetables and grocery shops, will remain closed during the prohibitory order.

According to Chief District Officer Bhimkanta Paudel, the order will remain effective for five days starting 6 am today until August 21 (11:69 pm).

The District Administration Office (DAO) has warned that those who violate the order will be penalized as per the Local Administration Act, 2028 and Infectious Disease Act, 2020.

Meanwhile, the DAO had urged all the concerned to purchase necessary commodities sufficing for five days before the prohibitory order was imposed.

Similarly, people entering the district headquarters with arrangement of passes have to mandatorily produce PCR reports.
