India’s COVID-19 death toll crosses 50,000-mark

NEW DELHI: India’s death toll from the coronavirus has crossed 50,000-mark as of Sunday morning.

According to Worldometers, the death toll now stands at 50,084 after 950 deaths reported in the last 24 hours. India confirmed 63,986 new cases on Saturday.

Over 13,500 deaths have been reported from across India so far this month, media reports said.

By contrast, the whole of July saw a total of 19,122 fatalities.
