HETAUDA: The Hetauda Hospital under the Madan Bhandari Institute of Health Sciences has set up an isolation ward having 120 beds. It was set up in five days.
The special health facility was established in a hostel building located at Hetauda sub metropolitan city-6. The sub-metropolitan city had extended cooperation for establishing the isolation.
Earlier, a team comprising Chief Minister of Bagmati State, Dormani Poudel; Minister for Social Development, Yubaraj Dulal; Chief Secretary Dr Man Bishwokarma, Mayor Hari Bahadur Mahat, and doctors had inspected the area to ascertain whether it was appropriate for the special health facility.
A team of Ministry of the Social Development, Hetauda Hospital, and Hetauda sub-metropolis claimed that the 120-bed isolation was created in five days.
The meeting of the State COVID-19 crisis management committee decided to set up the isolation after the isolations and quarantines set up earlier in schools and colleges were removed in a bid to resume the teaching learning activities, said committee chair Prakash Poudel.
He however said time has come to keep the infected persons at home after the unexpected rise in the infections.
Similarly, ward chief Dr Sagar Kafle informed that 12 coronavirus infected persons including nine police persons were kept in the newly set up isolation. Treatment to the infected ones began since Friday evening.
Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police have been mobilized for the security in the area having isolation ward.
