KATHMANDU: Final rites for abandoned British national Philips Malcolm, who died in course of treatment in Nepal,  have been performed at Pashupati Aryaghat.

Malcolm was cremated as per Hindu tradition at Pashupati Aryaghat on Tuesday evening. A team led by Binaya Jang Basnet, who was involved in the treatment of Malcolm, lit the funereal pyre. A girl, who claimed herself to be Malcolm’s girlfriend, was also present in the funeral ceremony.

Malcolm died while receiving treatment at the Thapathali-based Norvic Hospital on April 6.

A doctor at the hospital had confirmed his death. Malcolm breathed his last after his blood circulation dropped and faced difficulty in breathing, according to the doctor.
