FNJ condoles death of journalist Rokaya



KATHMANDU:  The Federation of Nepalis Journalists (FNJ) has expressed its sorrow over the demise of the FNJ’s former central member and Humla’s chapter founder president Jaya Bahadur Rokaya.

In a press statement issued by general-secretary of the FNJ, Ramesh Bista, today, the umbrella organization of the journalists in the country, expressed the condolence over the demise of Rokaya.

Rokaya, a local of Simkot Rural Municipality-5 in Humla district passed away on August 1 at his residence. He was 62.

The FNJ said that Rokaya’s death has caused loss of an active journalist and the Humla chapter of FNJ had lost a guardian.

Rokaya had actively contributed to the development of professional journalism in Karnali State. He was associated with the Kantipur daily for a long time.

Praying for the peace to the departed soul, FNJ extended condolences to the family of the deceased. Rokaya is survived by two spouses, four sons and a daughter.
