5 more cases in Gandaki takes COVID-19 tally to 1,435 in the province

POKHARA: Gandaki Province has seen 5 more cases of coronavirus infection on Wednesday taking the COVID-19 case tally to 1,435 in the province.

According to Dr. Binod Bindu Sharma, the director at the Gandaki Province Directorate, 5 new cases were identified on the PCR test carried out in Tuberculosis Treatment Center Pokhara.

Dr. Sharma informed that the new cases include 1 each from Syangja, Tanahu and Baglung and 2 from Myagdi.

The newly added COVID-19 patients are being taken to the isolation centers established in the respective district headquarters.

With this the number of coronavirus cases in the Province has reached to 1,435.

According to Dr. Sharma 1,201 people have been discharged after recovery.

Manang and Mustang have become coronavirus free district as the only one patients of each district there have already returned home after recovery. The isolation centers of these two districts are lying empty now.

Dr. Sharma informed that 172 people are still receiving treatment in various isolations centers of the Province.

Nawalparasi East also known as Nawalpur has got the highest number of coronavirus in Gandaki Province. Nawalpur has got 306 cases of COVID-19 till date.

Gandaki Province has seen 4 coronavirus deaths: one each from Baglung, Gorkha and two from Syangja.
