23 more cops at Nepal Police Headquarters test COVID-19 positive

KATHMANDU: As many as 23 more police personnel deployed at the Nepal Police Headquarters in Naxal have contracted the coronavirus.

Earlier, four personnel were confirmed to be infected with the pandemic virus.

According to SSP Kuver Kadayat of the IGP’s Secretariat, 23 more policemen were found to be infected during the tests based on contact tracing.

A police Head Constable working in the vehicle (MT) branch of the police headquarters had contracted for coronavirus for the first time after returning to Kathmandu.

All the newly-infected persons were working at the branch.

With this, the number of infected people at the police headquarters has reached 27.
