Bhatbhateni Supermarket fined Rs 300,000 for selling expired bottled water



KATHMANDU: The Commerce Department has imposed a fine on Bhatbhateni Supermarket for selling expired drinking water.

The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection has stated that a fine of Rs 300,000 has been imposed on Hanumansthan branch of Bhatbhateni for selling expired bottled water.

The department has stated that action has been taken in accordance with Section 16 (2) (a), Section 39 (1) (b) and Section 38 (e) of the Consumer Protection Act 2075.

Department Spokesperson Rabindra Acharya said that the store was fined after they found it selling expired bottled water.
