Singha Durbar main gate gets facelift



KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has started decorating the historical Singh Durbar gate, the main entrance to the administrative hub of the nation on Friday.

Marking the glory and strategic significance of the entrance of the main administrative headquarters of the country, Kathmandu metropolis has removed the weeds and scary marks at the main entrance of Singh Durbar today.

To clear the weeds, the metro staffers first used the double extension ladder, but soon realizing that it would not suffice to reach the top of the entrance aerial (turntable) ladder was brought for help which helped in clearing the weeds at the top.

The fallow ground lying on sides of the doors had turned slippery and ugly due to the green eukaryotic organisms spread due to the dampness in the area.

The main entrance of the administrative headquarters of the country had been an eyesore since the last few months.

According to the  sources, 40 employees under environment management department of the metropolis had accomplished the cleaning and clearing of the grass, weeds, sewage and other eyesores of the area on Friday morning.
