Nepal’s coronavirus death toll climbs to 43 as 60-yr-old dies in Birgunj



BIRGUNJ: A sexagenarian infected with coronavirus has died in Birgunj.

Originally from Birgunj Metropolitan City, the elderly had been suffering from pneumonia.

He had been admitted to Gandak Hospital following suspicions of coronavirus infection.

His swab had been collected posthumously after he passed away on Tuesday evening and sent to Narayani Sub Regional Hospital for PCR screening. The report came out positive at 10 pm on Wednesday.

Dr Udayanarayan Singh, the coordinator for Gandak Hospital confirmed that the elderly has died from the coronavirus.

According to medical reports unveiled on Wednesday night, 17 people including the elderly were found infected with the coronavirus.

They were confirmed during tests at the lab of Narayani Sub Regional Hospital.

With this, the number of deaths from coronavirus has climbed to 43.
