Landslides, floods drive away 71 households in Myagde



TANAHUN: As many as 71 families were forced out of homes at Myagde rural municipality in Tanahu district because of landslide and flood occurred on July 12 and 13.

The natural disasters affected in all seven wards in the rural municipality.

According to rural municipality Chair Mayadevi Rana, seven families from Ward-1, 27 at Ward-2, eight from Ward-3, two from Ward-4, five from Ward-5, 14 each at Ward-6 and 7 have been displaced by the floods and landslides.

The displaced are taking shelter at relatives’ homes and community buildings.

The local government gave Rs 5,000 monetary assistance and daily essentials. During the first phase of relief distribution, 71 displaced families were provided the relief support and others affected would be included in the distribution gradually, said rural municipality Chief Administrative Officer Hariram Nagila.
