All infected recover, quarantine empty in Panchthar



PACHTHAR: All the people infected with Coronavirus have recovered and returned home from isolation treatment. Four people who had returned from abroad had tested positive to the Virus.

As a result, the quarantine centers in the district have become empty since Friday. The first infection was recorded in the district on May 16 on a 25-year-old woman who had returned from foreign employment in Kuwait. She was taken to Koshi hospital in Biratnagar for treatment.

Likewise, three youths returning on repatriation flights from Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar respectively were confirmed positive to COVID-19. Among them, one was sent to the Koshi hospital in Biratnagar and two in COVID-19 special hospital in Gothagaon, Morang. All three have returned home after recovery, said chief of the health office, Paanchthar Narad Subedi.

All the 42 quarantine centers in the district have become empty since Friday, said assistant Chief District Officer Narayan Neupane. A total of 779 swab samples including those staying at the quarantine centres had been collected for testing, while 2,203 were tested through the RDT method.

The district has set up a 722-bed quarantine and 36-bed isolation ward for the COVID-19 patients. However, currently they are all empty.
