NCP Secretariat meeting on Saturday



KATHMANDU: Soon after postponing the Standing Committee (SC) meeting, the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has called a meeting of its Secretariat on Saturday at 3 pm.

Earlier, a SC meeting scheduled for 3 pm today was postponed for July 19.

Posting a twitter message, Press Advisor to the Prime Minister Surya Thapa said the SC meeting scheduled for 3 pm today has been postponed for July 19 (3 pm).

Prime Minister KP Oli and NCP Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal at an one-on-one meeting at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar this afternoon decided to hold a meeting of the 9-member powerful Secretariat on Saturday.

It should be noted that the two sides — PM Oli and Dahal-Nepal — also held meetings separately with the leaders of their respective groups.

Prime Minister Oli held discussions with leaders of his faction after talks with Chairman Dahal ‘Prachanda’ failed to make any headway.

Deputy Prime Minister and NCP Secretariat member Ishwar Pokharel, General Secretary Bishnu Poudel, Deputy Leader of the Parliamentary Party Subas Nembang and other leaders took part in the meeting at the prime minister’s residence in Baluwatar today.

Similarly, Dahal-Nepal camp also held a meeting with the leaders of their camp at Dahal’s residence in Khumaltar.
