Two, including mayor’s son, held with Rs 500 thousand commission

JANAKPURDHAM: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has arrested two, including a Mayor’s son, with Rs. 500 thousand commission money from Siraha on Wednesday.

According to CIAA Bardibas, Santa Mandal, son of Kalyanpur Municipality’s Mayor Surya Nath Mandal and Jeetendera Mahato were nabbed from Siraha with commission amount they had taken from the beneficiaries.

Both Mandal and Mahato were detained from Lahan Municipality-22, Raj Devi Chowk.

CIAA informed that Surya Nath Mandal, the Mayor of Kalyanpur Municipality had sent his son and another person to collect the bribe for the facilitation of DPR’s payment while both Mandal and Mahato got arrested red-hand.

CIAA Bardibas added that the Authority was investigating for further details.
