NCP Chair Dahal says party won’t split



CHITWAN: Chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has assured the party cadres that the NCP would not split.

During a cadres’ meet here today, Chairman Dahal reiterated that he was determined to keep the party unity intact.

“Party remains integrated. “I assure you fully,” he said, adding that there was no point in making groups and favoring certain section in the party. He urged the cadres to advocate for party unity rather than for certain leader and faction.

He however admitted that the party had seen serious problems. So, serious discussions are underway to keep the party intact.

According to him, it is not unusual to have disputes in the large party. Chairman further stressed the communist party cadres must abide by the party principles based on thoughts.

Reminding that the giant Communist Party of China has remained integrated, he said during his discussions with Chinese leaders, he came to know that an adherence to party ideology, rule and procedures would keep the party unified.

He claimed that there were forces in the past who did not want the promulgation of the constitution. “We promulgated the constitution by overcoming such forces,” Chairman Dahal recalled.

Dahal called on party cadres to warn against any unwanted tendency aimed at provoking party and leaders. He recalled that unity was there behind the promulgation of the constitution to the release of a revised map of the country.
