Monsoon to become active for some more days



KATHMANDU: Rain is predicted in most parts of the country with general to complete change of weather across the country on Sunday, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

Monsoon that remained active since Thursday continues for some days, it said. Monsoon low-pressure system becomes additionally active as it lies near the Tarai belt, said meteorologist Raju Pradhananga.

“The system gradually shifts towards South from Monday evening,” he said.

Average rain is predicted this monsoon. Today, most parts of State -1 and State-2 and some parts of other states were receiving rains from moderate to heavy scale.

Heavy rain is predicted in some places of State-1, State-2 and Bagmati State and one or two places of Gandaki State, State-5 and Sudurpaschim State, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

The Kathmandu Valley today recorded 3.2 milliliters rain. Likewise, Pokhara recorded 19.5 milliliters, Nepalgunj 4.6, Dhankuta 44.2, Birendranagar 60.7, Dipayal 11.2 and Dhangadhi 27.2.
