CIB arrests two fugitives convicted of banking crime

KATHMANDU: Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police arrested two fugitives convicted of banking offence.

A CIB team on Sunday arrested 55-year-old Ram Rajman Sunar of Nayabazaar of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-16 and 41-year-old Bishwo Mardan Basnet of Tarkeshwor municipality.

Patan High court on March 4 had convicted them slapping Sunar with a fine of Rs 1,469,640  along with a five-day custody term and Basnet with Rs 1.3 million along with  a five-day custody.

A case had been filed against Basnet and Sunar after their bank checks bounced back, according to  CIB Spokesperson DSP Bel Bahadur Pandey.
