Two fugitives arrested on banking offense charges



KATHMANDU: Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police arrested two fugitives after being convicted in the banking offence case.

The arrested are 41-year-old Ram Jyapu of Madhyapur Thimi municipality-7, Bhaktapur and Prakash Budhathoki of Budhanilkantha municipality, Kathmandu.

Patan High Court on August 28, 2019 had slapped Ram with a fine of Rs 1,150,000 for banking offence charges and 44-year-old Prakash with a fine of Rs 1,050,000 along with a seven-day custody term.

A case had been filed against them at Patan High Court after their bank checks bounced back.

The arrested have been sent to the central jail, Sundhara after arrest on Thursday.
