‘Enough is Enough’ activist Gurung hospitalized, protests to continue

KATHMANDU: An activist of ‘Enough is Enough’ campaign has been hospitalized after his health condition worsened.

Sudan Gurung, 35, had been on hunger strike staying at Mangal Bazaar, Patan, for the past four days.

He said that he will continue the protest from the hospital under the supervision of a doctor after the primary treatment.

Similarly, other activists Subhani Prajapati, Pukar Bam and Puja KC have continued their protest without food or water.

In response to the lack of promptness, transparency and accountability shown by the Government of Nepal in the management of COVID-19, a series of non-partisan protests have taken place across the country.

In the last 20 days, there were independent protests in Kathmandu, Pokhara, Biratnagar, Dhangadhi, Chitwan, Surkhet, Birgunj, Dhankuta, Bhaktapur, Butwal, Dang, Palpa, Hetauda, Lalitpur and other places.

The protests were self-organized, leaderless and spontaneous.
