Man rapes daughter after giving sleeping pills

BENGALURU: A man, 40, in Bengaluru of India allegedly drugged his 19-year-old daughter after giving her sleeping pills instead of medicines for cold and raped her.

The daughter reportedly attempted suicide as her stepmother didn’t help her register a complaint at the police, Indian media reports have said.

The girl then consumed toilet-cleaning chemical, went to a police station and informed the police about the crime, according to the report.

She told the police that her father have given her medicine after she told him that she was suffering from cold.

According to her, when she woke up in the morning, she found her father sleeping next to her.

The report on Times Now said the girl then realized that she had been sexually assaulted.

She told the police that she even informed her stepmother about the incident but in vain.

The police took the girl to a hospital.

The police have arrested the father of the girl.
