Police Inspector, legal practitioner nabbed with bribe money



DHANGADHI: Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has arrested a police inspector and a legal practitioner with Rs 50,000 bribe money on Thursday afternoon.

According to CIAA sources, Inspector Prakash Karki and advocate Himalaya Bikram Bisht have been arrested with the bribe money they were exchanging to resolve the litigation related to the rape and the public interest.

Inspector Karki works in the litigation section of District Police Office Kailali whereas advocate Bisht has his own Legal Advisory Center.

According to Top Bahadur Bisht, the information official at the CIAA, alleged duos were arrested while receiving Rs 50,000 as bribe money to help influence to cases related to the rape and the offense against the public interest.

CIAA official shared that advocate Bisht had played mediator between the alleged and the administration and the police inspector had reached the Legal Firm to collect the money.

Both of the alleged will be taken to Mahendranagar based CIAA office from where they will be sent to Kathmandu with the charge sheet and other files.
