KATHMANDU: With the coronavirus pandemic taking a toll on people’s health and economic condition of the country, it has not spared manpower companies, too.
As many as 516 manpower companies are on the verge of collapse after employment providing companies abroad faced a crisis.
A manpower company that does not send at least 100 migrant workers to a foreign country will be scrapped as per the provision of the Foreign Employment Act, 2007.
According to the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security, there are 516 such manpower companies in the country, currently.
The Department of Foreign Employment has issued a notice ordering the manpower companies to submit a detail of at least 100 workers sent to foreign countries in two fiscal years for the renewal of the companies.
Those companies that failed to send 100 workers will be scrapped as per the provision.
