Youth swept away by river found dead



KHOTANG:  A youth who had gone missing five days ago after being swept away by a river has been found dead this morning. The deceased has been identified as 17-year-old Ram Bahadur Rai from Khotang district.

He was a daily wageworker and had been staying with his sister and brother-in-law at Shuklagandaki-8. He had suspiciously gone missing while trying to cross the Suraudi River at Shuklagandaki-9 last Monday.

His lifeless body was found floating in the river beneath the Seti Bridge, according to Area Police Office, Belchautara’s police inspector Jagadish Regmi.

It was retrieved with the help of the locals. Until the filing of this report, preparations were going on to send the body to Damauli for a post-mortem.

Meanwhile, a person has been severely injured after falling off a mango tree at Ghiring Rural Municipality on Friday.

He has been identified as 24-year-old Dev Bahadur Kumal. As police estimated, the man had broken his ribs in the incident. The District Police Office confirmed that he has been sent to Chitwan for treatment. RSS
