Melamchi water supply test to take place in July



KATHMANDU: Minister for Drinking Water Bina Magar has claimed that the water supply test of the Melamchi project will take place in July.

Responding to queries at the meeting of the National Assembly Wednesday, Minister Magar said the Melamchi water supply will be made to the Kathmandu Valley once the testing is complete.

She said that the project implementation directorate is currently carrying out its management related works for the distribution of water in Kathmandu.

The Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited would look after the distribution of water, she said.

She went on to add that the water will be distributed to every household saying that the preliminary works of the first phase is in the run-up to the completion amidst the global pandemic of COVID-19.
