37-yr-old held for raping teenage girl



SAPTARI:  Police have arrested a youth on the charge of raping a 14-year-old girl in the district.

Saptari Police on Sunday arrested 37-year-old Shiva Shankar Mandal of Koiladi rural municipality for raping the girl after one year.

Mandal had raped the girl in a room of Laxmi Ballav Narshing Secondary School on July 13, 2019.

According to police,  DSP Tilak Bharati of Saptari District Police Office, Mandal had advanced to the girl in a state of unconsciousness. He had made her unconscious by providing a drink laced with sedatives, said Bharati.

The accused is the office assistant.
